As healthcare shifts to value-based models, the Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) enhances patient engagement by creating personalized prevention plans and addressing care gaps. AWVs, available at primary care, specialty practices, and urgent care clinics, identify risk factors to improve care quality. Patients with Medicare Part B for over 12 months are eligible if they haven't had an AWV or Welcome to Medicare Visit.
Medicare Annual Wellness Visit Reimbursement Codes
AWVs are free to the patient as they do not require a copayment, while providers are reimbursed for providing the service.
